The 4 Pillars of Sound Healing
“Frequency + Intent = Healing”
Intention
The power of conscious awareness, from both the creator and receiver of sound, to shape reality.
Frequency
A wavelength of sound or light measured in Hertz (Hz), how many times a frequency vibrates a second.
Everyone Is Unique
There is no single frequency that works best for everyone. Different frequencies resonate with different individuals. Trust your intuition and explore which ones feel right for you!
The Power Of Silence
Sound is a transformative tool that must be balanced with Silence. Silence allows us to go inward, to listen to the information within, and integrate that which we receive from Sound.

About Brainwaves
-
Brain waves are measured in Hertz (Hz). A unit of frequency, which measures the number of cycles (or oscillations) per second. It is used to describe the frequency of both sound waves and electromagnetic waves, such as light.
-
An EEG (Electroencephalogram) is a diagnostic tool that measures and records the electrical activity of the brain. It detects and amplifies the tiny electrical signals generated by the firing of neurons (nerve cells) in the brain. These signals are recorded as waves, which are then analyzed to understand brain function.
-
Brainwave categories offer general guidelines, but individual experience is key. For example, Gamma waves appear during deep meditation and REM sleep, yet Gamma is also prominent during intense focus. People respond differently to sound, and personal preferences—much like music—determine how sound frequencies affect mental states.
So, take the energetic states that correspond to different brain wave categories with a grain of salt.
-
Associated with deep sleep, healing, and immune function.
-
Associated with deep meditative states, creativity, emotional processing, and deep relaxation.
-
Associated with calm alertness, stress reduction, and relaxation. Present during light meditation or focused, calm activity.
-
Associated with active focus, problem-solving, and decision-making. Dominant during periods of concentration and mental effort.
-
Associated with higher cognitive functions, intensive learning, and REM sleep. Present during processing of complex information and heightened awareness.
About Sound
-
The rhythms of the body synchronizing to external rhythmic stimuli. By producing sound at precise frequencies, harmonies, and rhythm intervals we generate a sonic environment for the body and mind to synchronize with.
Further, the combination of precise electromagnetic frequencies also helps synchronize the body and mind.
-
Sine waves are rare, if ever found in nature. They are the simplest form of a sound wave, characterized by a smooth, periodic oscillation with a single frequency.
This wave has no harmonics—it only consists of a single frequency (called the fundamental frequency) with no overtones. Tuning forks aim to produce a sound that is close to a sine wave at its fundamental frequency.
-
Harmonics are what give sounds there character, or their timbre.
For example, when playing a single guitar string, a series of frequencies above the the lowest or fundamental frequency ring out. This collection of frequencies gives the sound its character.
Two instruments playing the same note (same fundamental frequency) will sound different because they emphasize different harmonics.
-
Frequencies alone are wonderful, but where they come to life is with Harmony. For example, the 3/2 ratio, or perfect fifth can be accomplished with any two frequencies. The individual frequencies don’t necessarily make a difference, it’s the harmonic relationship of powerful ratios such as the Major Third, Perfect Fifth, and Octave that elevate individual frequencies into a powerful sonic field of entrainment.
-
Cymatics provides a way to "see" the invisible phenomenon of sound. As sound waves travel through a medium, they create standing waves, regions of constructive and destructive interference.
We are then able to visualize the harmony or disharmony that sound can bring to matter.

Guido of Arezzo, an Italian Benedictine monk, is often credited with developing the early form of solfeggio in the 11th century. He created a system for teaching chant called the "Guidonian hand" and introduced hexachords (six-note scales), which later evolved into what we know as the solfeggio scale.
The hexachord, which contains six notes (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la), is the precursor to the modern solfeggio scale. This system was used to teach sight-singing and chanting and became the foundation for the development of musical notation in the medieval church.
The syllables used to denote the tones are Ut, Re, Mi Fa, Sol, La. They were taken from the first stanza of the hymn to St. John the Baptist:
Ut queant laxis Resonare fibris
Mira gestorum Famuli tuorum
Solve polluti Labii reatum
Sancte Iohannes
The literal translation from Latin: “In order that the slaves might resonate (resound) the miracles (wonders) of your creations with loosened (expanded) vocal chords. Wash the guilt from (our) polluted lip. Saint John.”
The Solfeggio Frequencies have definite roots in ancient European traditions, especially Gregorian Chants but also surely were discovered if not explicitly recorded by other ancient cultures.
The modern recognition and popularization of these frequencies are largely due to the work of Dr. Joseph Puleo and Dr. Leonard Horowitz in the 20th century.
Dr. Joseph Puleo examined the Book of Numbers in the Old Testament using the Pythagorean theorem and uncovered a pattern coinciding with the 6 Solfeggio notes.

417 Hz – Facilitating Change
Helps in clearing negativity, removing trauma, and promoting personal transformation. Encourages the release of emotional and mental blocks, making it easier to embrace change.
528 Hz – Transformation and Miracles (DNA Repair)
One of the most well-known solfeggio frequencies, often referred to as the "Love Frequency" or the "DNA Repair Frequency". It is believed to have a profound impact on healing, DNA repair, and cellular regeneration. It promotes love, compassion, and inner peace. It is thought to positively influence the heart chakra, helping with emotional healing.
639 Hz – Connecting and Harmonizing Relationships
Promotes harmony in relationships, both personal and professional. It encourages communication, understanding, and balance in relationships, making it ideal for those looking to improve their social and emotional connections.
741 Hz – Awakening Intuition and Expression
Thought to aid in the development of intuition, creativity, and self-expression. It is particularly beneficial for those who feel blocked creatively or who have difficulty expressing themselves. Stimulates the throat chakra, enhancing communication and helping individuals speak their truth. Believed to help clear toxins from the body and the mind, leading to greater clarity and mental sharpness.
852 Hz – Returning to Spiritual Order
Connect one with their higher self and spiritual wisdom. This frequency is linked with returning to a state of spiritual order and reconnecting with one’s intuitive guidance. It’s often used for meditation and spiritual awakening.
Additional 3:
174 Hz – Pain Relief and Healing
Believed to be a pain-relieving frequency that can help reduce physical and emotional pain. It is considered the most fundamental of all frequencies, as it is said to be a natural anesthetic.
285 Hz – Healing Tissue and Organs
Associated with healing and repairing tissues and organs. It is thought to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, assisting in the regeneration of cells and promoting physical well-being.

-
A frequency associated with connecting us to nature and the rhythms of the Earth.
Many find tuning music to A4 = 432 Hz vs 440 Hz produces a warmer, calmer harmonic quality.
For example, “The data suggests that 432 Hz tuned music can decrease heart rate more than 440 Hz tuned music. The study results suggest repeating the experiment with a larger sample pool and introducing randomized controlled trials covering more clinical parameters.”

A Transition
We live in an exciting era where over a century of research into the quantum world has revealed that our universe is not as straightforward as it appears.
This journey brings us to a profound realization shared by virtually every ancient culture: we inhabit an illusion. From a Western Philosophical perspective, we are now stepping out of Plato’s Cave. Known by the Aborigine’s of Australia as the “Dreamtime,” and understood by Native American cultures as the “Dream World.” In Vedic texts, the term “Maya” represents the “magic show” or “cosmic illusion.”
We as humans co-create our individual realities, and hold agency within our experiences. A universe where our consciousness is expansive within the quantum realm of infinite possibilities. An artist at work creating their masterpiece.
In quantum physics, this is best demonstrated by the double slit experiment, where a particle of light appears with a fixed position while being measured, and a wave of possible locations when not being measured.
Sound as a Bridge
Science now transitions from the traditional reductionist, materialistic view of the universe, governed by Newtonian and Einsteinian physics, to a quantum perspective where consciousness and intention form the foundation of reality, marking a radical shifts in how humanity operates.
We turn again to the teaching of ancient wisdom. We learn from origin myths that conscious intention and spoken word/sound are the two foundational tools that create our reality.
In the Bible, this is portrayed in John 1:1— “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” In both Sumerian and Egyptian creation myths, Marduk and Atum/Ra, form the world out of the chaotic primordial waters with thought and speech.
In the Native American Hopi cosmology, the Kachinas (spirits) sing songs that are considered the building blocks of creation. And in Greece, both Pythagoras and Plato believed that the cosmos is governed by harmonic ratios and sound. The “Music of the Spheres” was the force that structured the universe.
A Transformative Tool
Modern science has come full circle, bringing us back home to the wisdom that never left us.
Using sound frequencies with intention is a profound tool to bridge our consciousness with the quantum realm, the Dream World, a place of timeless truths.
Through the transformative power of sound we re-connect with our Soul and learn to live in harmony with nature once again.
